Rules & Requirements

A team consists of 6 athletes: 3 men and 3 women. One team member must be 35+ years old. Each team needs a coach. Specialists thrive. Grip6 is a true team sport where each player uses their specialty. Typically there are weightlifters, gymnasts, conditioning beasts and generalists in each team.

All athletes need to be able to do:
10+ reps Ground to Overhead 45/30kg
10+ reps Thrusters 45/30kg
10+ reps Pull-ups
10+ reps Double Unders

At least 1 male and 1 female are able to do:
Snatch 2-4 reps @ 50/35kg
Clean & Jerk 2-4 reps @ 70/45kg

At least 1 male and 1 female are able to do:
Chest to Bar Pull-ups @ 5+ reps
Rope Climbs @ 1+ reps

elite division

All athletes need to be able to do:
10+ reps Ground to Overhead 60/40kg
10+ reps Thrusters 60/40kg
10+ reps Chest to Bar Pull-ups
10+ reps Handstand Push-ups

At least 1 male and 1 female are able to do:
Snatch 2-4 reps @ 90/60kg
Clean & Jerk 2-4 reps @ 110/75kg

At least 1 male and 1 female are able to do:
Muscle-ups @ 6+ reps
Handstand Walk @ 6+ meter

battlefield

The field consists of 4 quadrants, a start and a finish mat. A specific task must be executed in each quadrant before the team can proceed to the next quadrant. Each race has a different composition, both in terms of athletes and tasks. Each race has their own set of rules.

types of races

Bonny & Clyde: Race with one female and one male. No substitutions allowed.
You go, I go: One athlete must complete a full quadrant before switching.
Relay: Each athlete completes all 4 quadrants before the next athlete can go.
Lone Ranger: Individual race for one athlete.
Back and Forth: After each quadrant, athletes must go back to start.
Mirror: Two athletes need to work synchronized.
Pet Rock: One task must be done to be allowed to work in the quadrants (e.g. dead hang or hold)
Like a Team: Each member of the team has to do one element.
The Pyramid: Two elements that increase in difficulty.
Join the Party: In each quadrant, one athlete has to join to complete the elements.
Floor is Lava: Once the barbell leaves the ground, it cannot be dropped.
The Repeater: Two identical races run back to back, separated by 30 seconds.
AMWAP: Team accumulates as many successful lifts as possible.
The Ninja: bodyweight elements increasing in difficulty.
The Chipper: One element in each quadrant must be completed as fast as possible
Twin Chipper: Two players work simultaneously across two stations for each element.
